*HDMI ports of both monitor and GPU are most likely fine (test on old monitor and digital box) *HDMI cables are most likely fine (test on old monitor and digital box) *Increasing GPU use will black the screen out more (when I first got my monitor) This made me think that there is probably nothing wrong with the HDMI cable, HDMI ports of the monitor, and the HDMI port of the GPU. I tried watching a 1080p video just to see if it will start flickering, but no problem at all. So just a few minutes ago I also tested it using a digital box that stores movies and it is working fine (both HDMI-2 and HDMI-1 with the same HDMI cable has no flicker issue with my digital box even if I fidget the HDMI cable around attached to the monitor and swap it back and forth from HDMI-1 and HDMI-2). So I was thinking maybe the issue is in both the HDMI ports of the new monitor. But when I plugged it in the old monitor, there was no flickering issue at all. I tried to use the HDMI cable again on my old monitor to be double sure that it is not my cable failing me. But when I unplug the HDMI cable and re-plug it in HDMI-1 port (the one with less issues) just to see if it will start flickering again, it will start flickering again and I have to keep unplugging/re-plugging it for it to work (which is what is happening now since I tried it again after the whole night of being flicker free). I felt that MAYBE that HDMI port had a problem so I switched from HDMI-2 to HDMI-1 and surprisingly, the flickering was less! It sometimes also comes to a point where if there no flickering issue present and I don't unplug the HDMI cable, it will work perfectly fine (even playing PUBG and Dota 2). I don't remember when it started doing that but it became practically unusable even to do basic computer work. So I went to radeon and installed the latest stable driver as recommended, but issue still persists.Įventually using HDMI-2 would just non-stop flicker my screen even if it is in the desktop now with no games running. I felt that since the monitor could be running more updated software and hardware due to being more recent than my very obsolete previous monitor, maybe the issue was because of my graphics driver (a few months unupdated). So the only change in my system was the new monitor. The HDMI cable was the same as the one with the old monitor. Before I swapped my old monitor with the new one, I changed nothing except the power chord of the new monitor. So I knew something was up with the graphics/monitor connection. The game is able to load but everytime I switch to the game application it will only display for 3 seconds then it will instantly black screen again until I alt tab. So I was wondering why this was the case so I tried it on another game, Dota 2. Then when I tried re-launching the game or switching back to the application, it blacked up again. So I pressed alt tab to go to the desktop then my display went back to normal. But I fired up my PUBG (a game), then I was wondering why the screen was just black. Initially (first few minutes) I had no problems with this at all I was able to go into my desktop with 0 flickering and/or black screen issues. Rams: DDR4 2666 Kingston HyperX Fury Black (8gb each) I recently purchased a 24" IPS 144Hz monitor called AOC G4G2 yesterday.
